Background and Rationale

For three countries with such a tightly shared cultural background and geographic proximity, 中國 (チウ カㅗか, chu kok, "China"), 韓國 (ㅎㅓㄴ カㅗカ, han kok, "Korea") and 日本 (ㅎㅣ ㅂㅗㄴ, hi bon, "Japan") are all homes to unique, linguistically unrelated languages with radically different phonologies.
